What is rose royce lead singer?

Rose Royce was an American soul and R&B group famous for several hit songs in the 1970s. The lead singer of the group was Gwen Dickey, who joined the band in 1975. Dickey was born in Biloxi, Mississippi, in 1947 and grew up in Flint, Michigan. She started singing in her local church choir and later formed her own group, The Jewels, with her sister.

Dickey joined Rose Royce after the group's founder, Norman Whitfield, heard her singing and invited her to join the band. She quickly became the face of the group and is credited with much of its success. Some of the group's best-known songs featuring Dickey as lead singer include "Car Wash," "I Wanna Get Next to You," and "Love Don't Live Here Anymore."

Dickey left Rose Royce in 1980 to pursue a solo career but returned to the group for several reunion performances in the early 2000s. She continues to perform and record music, both as a solo artist and with other bands.
